• Ashburton has been home to Baltimore’s African-American political and social activism since the early 1950’s. The neighborhood of stately, single-family, detached residences is the home of former mayors as well as multiple city and state delegates.
• Location: Boundaries are Cold Spring Lane to the north, Liberty Heights Ave to the south, Wabash Ave., Belle Ave., Dolfield Ave, Sequoia Ave. and Wabash Ave. (again) to the east and Callaway Ave. to the west.

Aldi’s food market is nearby. Residents are also a short drive away from Reisterstown Road and Security Square Malls. Access to major roadways make downtown and suburban malls and stores at Towson, Owings Mills, Columbia, Arundel Mills, and Route 40 stores convenient for one’s shopping needs as well.
• Transportation Information: Ashburton is well-suited for those who travel by foot; many daily needs are convenient to meet by walking. The nearest supermarket in Ashburton is typically only a short walk away. Biking in Ashburton is easy, including a good number of hills to challenge more ambitious cyclists. Ashburton’s cycling network is large and welcomes newcomers. The commute to and from Ashburton is very convenient. Ashburton is only a few minutes from major highways I- 40, 83, 70, 695 and 95. The Metro Stations (Mondawmin, Coldspring & Rogers Ave stations) and the light rail system (North Ave) are a short distance away, providing access to a number of bus lines as well. A short commute will get you to downtown, the Penn and West Baltimore train stations, and Thurgood Marshall-BWI Airport.
• Parks & Recreation: Ashburton is convenient to Hanlon Park, Gwynn Falls Walking Watershed Trails and Druid Hill Park. Other recreational resources are Forest Park Golf Course, the Maryland Zoo, and Carrie Murray Outward Bound Center, which provide biking, hiking, and walking trails, tennis courts, golf course, and open green space – a variety of fun, recreation and relaxation for everyone.
