Strengthening Communities, Empowering Residents

Our Story

A Legacy of Community Empowerment
Garwyn Oaks Northwest Housing Resource Center (GO Northwest) was born from a grassroots initiative in 1999 to address housing deterioration in Baltimore. Officially incorporated in 2007, we have since grown into a HUD-certified nonprofit dedicated to homeownership and community revitalization. For over two decades, we’ve been empowering Baltimore’s residents to achieve their homeownership dreams and create vibrant, sustainable communities.

We believe that healthy neighborhoods are built on maintained and preserved homes, stable neighborhoods, and engaged residents . Our services help residents navigate the homebuying process, maintain their homes, and stay rooted in their communities.

Our Mission

Building Resilient Communities
Ensuring healthy, strong neighborhoods by equipping potential and existing residents to obtain, maintain, and retain their homes successfully.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that everyone has the resources, knowledge, and support to buy, maintain, and improve their home. Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer or a long-time homeowner looking to renovate, GO Northwest is here to guide you every step of the way. By supporting our residents we contribute to the overall health and sustainability of Baltimore’s neighborhoods.

Through comprehensive education, counseling, and resources, we strive to enhance the stability and sustainability of Northwest Baltimore’s communities.

When I fell behind on my mortgage, I thought I’d lose my home. GO Northwest’s foreclosure assistance helped me create a plan and negotiate with my lender to stay rooted in my community.
