Securing and keeping a home is more of a challenge today than ever before. Challenged credit and finances, detailed procedures and paperwork, and lack of access to resources make obtaining and retaining a home difficult at best. GO Northwest works with individuals and families to help them buy their first home, make needed repairs and improvements, avoid foreclosure and do so affordably. The Davis family of Howard Park found themselves homeless without adequate financial resources to renovate their home after a devastating fire. With the home being in her aging parents name, her father in failing health in a nursing home, and no insurance the situation appeared hopeless. With the help and resources of GO Northwest, we worked with Ms. Davis and her family to transfer the home to Ms. Davis, secure the best housing program to address her needs including completing necessary paperwork for the rehabilitation, securing a contractor, and providing follow-up services until the home was completely renovated and the family moved back into the home.
Your donation helps GO Northwest continue to help people to obtain, maintain, and retain their homes, as well as stabilize and sustain their neighborhoods by providing homeownership and financial education and counseling, accessing funding and affordable housing and financial resources for home purchase and improvements, securing community improvements and beautification and helping residents at risk of foreclosure to keep their homes when difficult times hit. With your help, we can continue to advocate for, serve and equip the individuals and families to achieve their housing needs. Garwyn Oaks Northwest Housing Resource Center (GO Northwest) is a 501(c)3 organization, donations to which are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
